Manna – The Durango Soup Kitchen

Manna serves quality balanced meals in a safe and respectful environment. While our community kitchen is the core of Manna, our overall goal is to help people gain greater self-sufficiency through supportive services, culinary job skills training, and increasing food equity around nutritious, local produce.

How the money will be used

This money will be used to fund our programs and services, which offer support to any person seeking assistance in our region. Donations allow us to:

  • Provide free daily meals
  • Provide food to partner organizations, who deliver meals and groceries to people in the rural reaches of our region
  • Offer supportive services such as ID assistance, SNAP enrollment, transportation assistance, and more
  • Purchase food for our Take-Home Backpacks, which provide weekend meals to students using free & reduced lunch programs
  • Operate our onsite production garden, which provides many with access to healthy, local produce
  • Operate our culinary training program, which provides vulnerable populations with culinary and life skills to prepare them for gainful employment

How will it make a difference
