Host a Team UP AmeriCorps Member

Host Sites must be schools, non-profits, or government agencies. AmeriCorps members cannot serve at for-profit organizations.

Team UP AmeriCorps members serve doing a wide range of tasks. The main thing to remember is that they must be expanding current programs/projects or implementing new ones at your organization. Additionally, these positions should all have a focus on direct service and should benefit both the organization and the member. Consider how you could set this AmeriCorps position apart from other staff roles when designing the position.

Lastly, the goals of the position should relate to improving the well-being of children and families in Southwest Colorado.

While there can be exceptions, most of our positions start at one of two times:

1. Core Positions: Most of our positions start in September and run for a 9 or 12 month term. The Host Site Application for Core Positions opens in the Spring of each year. While applications are accepted on a rolling basis, priority is given to applications submitted before April 30th.

2. Summer Positions: We also offer Summer Positions (June - August). Host Site Applications for Summer Positions are accepted Feb - March.

While UWSWC covers the majority of costs and administrative responsibilities associated with hosting an AmeriCorps member, we do ask organizations to pay a Host Site Fee. This fee is determined by the total amount of hours the member is expected to serve at the organization.

For Summer 2024, Host Site Fees are:

• $2,750 for a 300-hour member position

• $4,250 for a 450-hour member position
